One of the most iconic and beautiful cities in the world is my 6th favourite photography destination. The light in this city never fails to disappoint me, and whether it rains or shines it truly is a magical destination to wander around with a camera.
I've made a number of trips to Rome over the years, and am in the middle of planning a return when the calendar allows, however that maybe into 2026 now. Magic hour here is fabulous and its worth getting up and out early as you can capture many of the significant sights at dawn when the light is perfect and the tourist hoards are still asleep.

One area of the city I am desperate to photograph again is Trastevere. A colourful and historically working class neighbourhood right on the banks of the river Tiber. It may not have the Pantheon or Trevi Fountain, but it does possess character aplenty amongst is cobbled streets not to mention the best food I have found in the city away from the tourist traps. If I return in 2026, then I shall certainly be photographing this area.
