Welcome to my new website everyone. After losing my website www.davidbaxendale.com to hackers and cyber squatters I decided to relaunch on a new .co.uk domain after being held hostage to demends of over $40,000 for my own .com No thanks guys!
So welcome back and I hope you enjoy my new look site which features images that have been published many times, and you may be familiar with, alongside some new ones you may not have seen before. The image below of the Fish Drying Nets in the Arctic Circle of northern Norway for example is a new one.

I also have new trips and expeditions coming later in the year. You can check them out in the itinerary section of this website. I am really excited about returning to India this winter and visiting the far northern region of Kashmir and Ladakh in particular. I am going to photograph people and religious festivals in winter when the temperatures typically fall to -20 degrees. Tourists do visit the area in July & August when the summer temperatures are more welcoming. For me though, meeting and photographing the people that live in this area in the inhospitable winter months is very exciting when few people venture there.
I will be photographing the temples and monasteries in the villages around Leh, and I'll be visiting Shan Lodge in Uley which was featured in BBC's Planet Earth and the home of the "White Ghost", the Snow Leopard. It's in a stunning very mountainous area and the chance to meet and photograph people and Buddhist festivals there is exciting. The two festivals I hope to photograph are the Stok Guru Tsechu festival at Stok Palace, and the monks preparing for it. After that I will photograph the Matho Nagrang Buddhist festival which features the chosen oracle monks and their future predictions.
I'll also revisit Chandni Chowk in New Delhi as part of this trip. Exciting times and hopefully capture more images like the ones below from my last visit.

Loving the new website and look forward to seeing photos of your exciting travels later this year
